The Colour Blue in Historic Schipbuilding

from antiquity to modern times

By popular request an English translation of the book is available "The color blue in historical shipbuilding" in preparation. I am very pleased that the well-known maritime textbook author David Antscherl was able to be enthusiastic about the English language editing. As with the German edition, the English edition will also be published as Book-on- Demand by BoD in Norderstedt. Further information on the ENGLISH edition HERE

Announcement new book.

Die Farbe Blau im historischen Schiffbau

von der Antike bis zur Neuzeit

The use of the colour blue in historical shipbuilding raises many questions. Which pigments, which colours were available and how were they used? What could also be applied in shipbuilding? Join us on a fascinating journey over 5,500 years back to the discovery of the first blue pigments into modern times. An abundance of sources and pictorial materials round off the well-founded descriptions. Let yourself be surprised what the colour blue has to offer in shipbuilding. This book will be published as Book-on-Demand by the publishing house BoD in Norderstedt on the German book market. Expected to be available at the end of January 2019. Pre-orders until 30 January 2019 with free delivery within Germany, reduced shipping costs abroad and, if desired, with personal dedication. Further information on the GERMAN edition HERE
